Living in the Philippines is like riding a roller coaster. The continuous struggle of trying to make ends meet month after month. The constant stress of doing your daily grind makes one long for a quick get away.

The great thing about our country, the part which I really like, is that we have tons of places that we could go to to unwind and escape the harshness of our realities even for just a couple of days.

Now most of you, if not all of you, would think of places like Boracay, Palawan or even Palaui.

If that is the case, I'm really sorry to disappoint you but this blog is about a place that is under the radar of even the most traveled Filipinos out there...

Papaya Cove.

There are a lot of beaches in the Philippines that are truly breathtaking and could bring a sense of peace and tranquility to a lost and tired soul but would absolutely take a sizable portion of their hard earned money in the process.

Papaya Cove is quite different from these well known and over rated vacation spots that you know, simply because you could have the those things (sense of peace and tranquility) and more for just a reasonable and fair amount.

Sounds good, right?!

Let me tell you how we ended up finding this place to start with.

One fateful day in the office we were advised by our boss that we needed to go on a team building activity that would involve everyone in our department. So went our way to look for a place that is big enough to accommodate everyone and at the same time would be in line with the season.

Our answer was "The Beach".

But like what I mentioned earlier, most of the nice beaches in the country comes with a hefty price and we need to work on a budget.

We ended up talking to a group called Biyaheros Travel and Tours which is led by the beautiful and charismatic Shane Iguiban. They were able to work with us with the budget that we had and promised a memorable and fun experience for our team.

The deal included Van Transportation, Accomodation, Boat Transfer, Food for Lunch and Dinner.

And the rest was history.

Honestly, I think they gave us more than our moneys worth.

Papaya Cove is located in Sitio Iba, in Nasugbu, Batangas. The jump off point to get to the island is just a couple of hours away from Alabang, where our office is located. That's if you don't stop over for food or gas. From the jump off point at Patungan Port, its just a 15 - 20 minute boat ride to get to the island.

If you're going to bring your car or motorcycle, you don't need to worry about the parking space because the locals at Patungan Port will help you with that for a reasonable fee.

Once you get to the island, you'll be greeted with a beautiful view and hospitable locals that are hell bent on making sure that you will have a very comfortable and memorable stay in the island.

There are several cottages sitting right next to the beach where you could dump your gear and stuff while thinking of the next activity that you'll engage in.

Apart from beach bumming, there are a lot of activities that you could do in the island once you're settled in and well rested from your travel getting there.

Swimming, Trekking, Island Hopping, Cliff Jumping, Fish Feeding and Snorkeling to name a few.

Oh, I forgot, they will also allow you to light up a bonfire and do some glamping by the beach if that's your thing.

You could also do beach volleyball, videoke and billiards.

Here are a few reasons why I think that Papaya Cove is a piece of paradise here on Earth:

1. A Jaw Dropping View

The following morning when I woke up, I went for a walk on the beach and as I look at the sun rising in the horizon, I realized that it is true when they said that "the best things in life are free".

2. Tons Of Activities

Check out some of the activities that we did...

Boodle Fight

Beach Bumming

3. The Magic Of Having Limited Access To Technology

Our technology has developed immensely within the past decade or so and it has become a part of our modern lives.

However, it has lowered down our interest in inter personal interactions due to the popularity of different social media platforms.

Papaya Cove will take that away from you due to the weak signal it gets from our local telecoms companies in our country.

And guess what happens when you take away technology from a young group of people for just a couple of days...

4. A Vacation Get Away Where You Don't Have To Deal With A Huge Crowd

Since Papaya Cove is not as popular as the other well known get away spots in our country, you don't need to deal with a huge crowd and really feel relaxed your entire stay.

At the end of the day, the tans will fade but the memories you made from places like this will always remain.

If you are interested in booking a stay in this wonderful place you can reach out to Shane Iguiban at 0917 459 0731 / 0920 135 6073.
